Dr. Hazel Cable BVSc

Dr. Hazel is our practice owner and head veterinarian. She was born in South Africa, and it seems being a Vet is in her blood, with both her father and brother also being qualified Vet Surgeons. From a young age, she was able to go on large animal calls with her father, including his trips to dart large game in the wilds of South Africa. Dr. Hazel helped in his large and small animal practice until she began studying Veterinary Medicine at the University of Pretoria. In her early years after qualification, she worked with sheep, pigs and cattle, and even had the opportunity to examine a male lion. Due to the violence in South Africa, Dr. Hazel decided to work around the world, practicing in Wales and parts of England before journeying to Australia. The first practice she worked in was in Karratha, Western Australia before she finally settled in Adelaide.

In her time, Dr. Hazel has seen more of the world then many people, travelling extensively through the United States, Africa, Europe, Egypt and parts of the Middle East. She has also travelled to Nepal and hiked to base camp Everest, and climbed to the peak of Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. She is a keen fitness fan, spending much of her down time at the gym.

Dr. Dylan Bigatton  BSc, DVM

Dr. Dylan studied at University of Adelaide’s Roseworthy Campus and graduated in 2018. Dr. Dylan grew up in the Southern Suburbs of Adelaide, only 5 minutes away from the Old Reynella Clinic. He has a little Chihuahua called Minnie who he adopted a few years ago.

Dr. Dylan’s favourite aspect of being a vet is communicating and working collaboratively with clients to make the best treatment and preventative plans for their pets. His favourite hobby is holiday planning to fulfil his love for  travel and different cultures. Pre-COVID, Dr. Dylan has travelled to the Pacific Islands, New Zealand, Japan and South East Asia; and has many more places on his ‘must see’ list.

Outside of work, Dr. Dylan enjoys reading, cooking, spending time with family and friends, going to a football game, and binging the latest Netflix series.

Dr. Ellie Chipperfield BSc, DVM

Dr. Ellie Chipperfield graduated from Adelaide University in 2018 (along with our other lovely vet, Dr Dylan.)

She always wanted to become a vet, and there was no doubt in her mind that that was the future profession she would follow. Ellie loves working with people and their pets and loves the stories that people create with their furry friends. Ellie has an adopted kitty named Ori that was fostered via the vet clinic she was working in at the time.

Outside of work, Ellie likes to spend time with friends and family. She like wine tasting, and bushwalking and generally getting out into the great outdoors.

Dr. Quinn Mackie DVM

Meet Dr. Quinn – he is one of our part-time Veterinarians who joined our clinic back in 2016.

Dr. Quinn dreamed of being a vet since he was 7 years old, but it was only after losing a close family pet in his mid-twenties, he took the plunge and started his studies in Veterinary Medicine. It was at Vet School he would also meet his future wife and fellow Veterinarian Ioanna. Outside of work, Dr. Quinn enjoys spending time with his family and young daughter, Alex; he also enjoys renovating and just generally being a homebody. He has three rescue pets—a Cattle Dog cross named Molly; a Labrador cross named Max and a domestic cat named Penny.
